The Benefits of Green Tea,what Everybody Should Know

It seems everybody is suddenly waking up to the benefits of green tea, even though the Chinese have been using it in their medicine for over 4000 years!

What you really should know about the benefits of green tea are its amazing protective qualities, among others. It is being hailed as one the most promising anticancer compounds ever discovered, and that’s just for starters.

The benefits of green tea that give it its considerable power are the abundance of antioxidants, which are 100 times more powerful than vitamin C, and studies have shown it to lower rates of cancer and help lower your LDL or bad cholesterol levels too.

Another benefit that is becoming more widely known is as an aid to weight loss. It seems that it can boost your metabolism, which is why it is sometimes referred to as a fat burner, and really helps you to lose weight. Of course a good diet and some exercise as well are necessary!

Prevention of heart disease and helping to inhibit tooth decay are yet more of the benefits of green tea. How many other natural products do we know that can achieve so much?

So quite an amazing list of qualities for just one herb, and one important factor to bear in mind is that green tea will work even better when combined with other synergetic ingredients, for example in supplement form.

This basically means that the health benefits it gives, when combined with olive leaf or turmeric for example, will be greatly enhanced than if you than if you took these ingredients alone.

Also when you take it in supplement form, the pills are decaffeinated and you can be sure you are getting the correct daily dosage, with none of the side effects of caffeine.

I don't know about you but when I've tried to drink green tea regularly, I struggle! Ok so maybe I'm a lightweight (!) but I find the preparation and the bitter taste just put me off. Bear in mind a supplement can contain the equivalent of around 4-5 cups – that's a lot to drink to get the benefits of green tea compared to taking it in extract form.
